Helena & Tim,
hailing from Utah got married on Smather’s beach which is probably Key West’s most popular beach to get married on. Their short ceremony was followed by reception dinner at Bagatelle’s on Duval Street. Best part: Helena’s parents are from Czech (I am czech too) which I learned when we met the day before the wedding. Czech out their story and photos… (see what I did there?)
· about bride
Parents emigrated from Czech Republic and Helena was born in the US. She is currently studying to get her master’s degree in structural engineering.
· about groom
Born in Salt Lake City, UT and a sous chef at a high end Salt Lake City downtown restaurant.
· how did you meet
We met at a high school New Year party. We shared a New Year’s kiss at midnight and since then we have been inseparable.
· who proposed and how
Tim proposed in front the astronomical clock in Prague, Czech Republic. We were traveling Europe and Helena has family in Czech Republic so Tim knew that it would be a special place to propose.
· wedding theme/inspiration
We love to travel and explore tropical places. We share a love for sunsets on the beach so we thought it would be perfect to have a beach wedding at sunset.
· why Key West
We were looking for a beautiful place with character and Key West is exactly that. Key West is a beautiful place.
· why Filda Konec Photography
Say Yes in Key West gave us a list of recommended photographers we loved the style and quality Filda Konec Photography has to offer.
· what’s planned for the future
Not much, just more traveling to new places to see as much of the world as we can.
· best moment of your wedding day
For Tim, seeing the bride for the first time. For Helena, standing at the altar and holding the groom’s hands.
· advice you would give to future brides who are planning a wedding/elopement in Key West
All of the people in Key West are so nice and relaxed and it rubs off on you. My experience with planning our wedding was wonderful! Everything was so easy and everyone I worked with made sure it was easy for me. So no matter who you choose to work with, you know it will be a great experience.
