Maternity Photography by the Water

The Florida Keys offer a naturally beautiful setting for maternity photography, with endless backdrops that make each session feel timeless and personal. As a Florida Keys photographer, I love using locations near the water — calm beaches, rocky shorelines, and hidden piers — where the mix of turquoise waters and soft skies sets a serene mood. The lush greenery found in mangroves or tropical gardens adds texture and contrast, especially when paired with the warm light during golden hour.

When planning your session, clothing choices can make a big difference. Flowing dresses in neutral or pastel tones photograph beautifully against the vibrant landscape, but don’t be afraid to bring a second outfit for variety. A wardrobe change can create a mix of soft and bold looks within the same shoot. Many expecting mothers also choose something slightly sexy — a cropped top, open-belly dress, or even a wrap — to highlight their bump in a natural and intimate way.

Including your partner in a few shots can add depth to your story.
